More than 500 students participated in a presidential mock election
at Heights Elementary School.
Heights students learned about the electoral process,
voters registration, required identification,
candidates’ platform, and important nationwide issues.
The youngsters registered to vote, cast their ballots
on computers set up in the school’s entry,
and received an “I Voted” sticker.
LISD believe mock elections help children develop
an appreciation for civic participation early
and to build the next generation’s understanding
and trust in the voting process.
