Dear Hawks Family, Once again, we have come to the close of another remarkable and very memorable school year for Heights Elementary School. Time really went by fast throughout the school year. Many of your children have been recommended to attend the program for either additional assistance or for providing your children an insight to what they will expect to learn as they go on to the next grade level. Summer school programs begin on Tuesday, May 29, 2025 and end on Wednesday, June 19, 2025. These programs include the Extended Year Program, Extended School Year (ESY), the 1st Grade Academy, 2nd Grade Academy, the 3rd-4th Grade Prep Academy, the STEAM Academy for K – 2nd grades, and the STEAM Academy for 3rd – 4th grade students. The times for these programs are from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Students in PK4 – K may also have been recommended for the Bilingual Summer School Program which runs from May 29 to June 26, 2025. The schedule for this program is from 7:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. If you have questions regarding any summer school program, please feel free to contact the school at (956)273-3600. The Child Nutrition Program Summer Food Service Program will continue over the summer from May 29, 2025 to June 26, 2025. Please take advantage of this wonderful program. Report cards are available through the Skyward School Portal; however, official copies of your child/children’s report card(s) will be distributed on Friday, May 23, 2025, the last day of the school year. Other important information will also be included with your child’s report card. In closing, it was an honor and privilege having your children at Heights Elementary School. I hope that your children have had a memorable year. We thank you for entrusting your children to us. Please continue to listen for updates about the beginning of the school year which begins on August 11, 2025. The 2025 – 2026 Laredo ISD Dress Code guidelines are attached in both English and Spanish. Please use this as guide for your clothing purchases. Dress code will be enforced during the 2025 – 2026 school year. Information for Meet the Teacher Night will be posted on the school’s webpage and also be available on the school’s marquee. I hope that you have an enjoyable, restful, safe, and healthy summer. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.
