Principal's Message (Click Here to open full Message)
Dear Parents, It was long ago, when we welcomed our students back to school. Time has really gone by fast and we are now getting ready to wrap up the first nine weeks of school. With that in mind, all students have completed the Beginning of Year (BOY) tests and teachers have vital information concerning the progress of your children. Based on that information, many students have been recommended to stay for tutorial sessions on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 P.M. – 5:45 P.M. These sessions are held in order to serve as a valuable opportunity to help strengthen your children’s learning skills so that they may feel academically successful. Also, vitally important is sending your children to school each day and on time! The first bell rings at 7:40 A.M. with the tardy bell ringing at 7:45 A.M. Attendance Matters! As a reminder, the doors to the school are open beginning at 7:15 A.M. By bring your children to school by this time, they will be able to enjoy a nourishing breakfast which makes for a great start to the day. During the month of October, there are many activities that will enhance our student’s learning experience at school such as the 5th Grade field trip to the CTE Expo, Red Ribbon Week Presentations, Fire Safety Presentation, Halloween Safety Presentation, the Laredo Police Department’s McGruff’s Presentation, Dyslexia Awareness Month activities, School Bus Safety Week, our annual Trunk-or Treat, among many others. We also would like to thank everyone that helped and supported our school’s McTeachers Night that was scheduled on October 22, 2024. As always, if you have suggestions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Your continued support is very much appreciated as we continue to work together in providing a positive learning environment for our students. Best Regards, Adriana Padilla, Principal Heights Elementary
