Principal's Message


Dear Heights Family,

I hope that as you read this, you and your families are doing as best as possible and staying safe amidst the global COVID -19 pandemic crisis. Our teachers and other professional support team members have been planning and preparing instructional lessons to insure that instructional continuity is met for every student. This consists of weekly instructional packets and Distance learning through the campus and district websites. The vast majority of students have been reached via communication from your child/children’s teacher(s). If you have not been reached, please call the school and I will inform teachers of how they may communicate with you. In order for your son/daughter to receive instructional credit for the learning taking place though Distance Learning while at home, they will be required to participate in continuous instruction through: 1) submission of the instructional packet, 2) Distance Learning, or 3) a combination of both completion of the instructional packet and Distance learning. This is a requirement and a student not completing assignments will not receive credit. For families with devices but no internet/Wi-Fi access, you may get in touch with Spectrum for their promotion of free internet access for two months. The phone number is 1-844-488-8398.

Instructional packets will continue to be distributed on Thursdays during the Grab N Go Lunch beginning at 9:30 a.m. and up to 12:00 p.m. Instructional packets will be dropped off every Monday and will be placed in crates labeled by grade levels. Because of the impending weather forecast of rain for this week, crates will be located at the front of the school. Please make sure that you abide by the rules that everyone must follow 1)the social distancing regulation (6 feet apart) and 2) the wearing of a mouth covering.

Please continue to keep in constant communication with your child/children’s teacher(s). They will be calling students or conducting lessons via face time in order to check on their progress. The Accelerated Reader Program is also available for students to read from the comfort of their homes.

Classes are set to resume tentatively on May 4, 2020 unless other decisions are made to protect the safety and well-being of everyone. Please look for any changes to this date on the school’s web-page, the district’s web-page, social or local news media, and automated messages sent by the school district or school.

Our school building may be closed, but Heights teachers and staff are here to help and support you with any concerns.
