Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Staff,Ms. Padilla

Welcome back to the 2016 – 2017 school year!  First of all, Thank you for a successful Meet the Teacher Night!  The first day of classes is Monday, August 22, 2016 with the first bell ringing at 7:40 a.m.

Attention Heights Hawks...You are a part of the best elementary school in Laredo ISD and the # 6 ranked school in the city!  This is a testament to our dedicated staff who give so much of themselves to our students.  This year, the bar is even higher and we as Hawks will do more than we have to reach the ultimate goal!

An important reminder for our parents to come by and register your child via our Online Registration process.  If you have not taken advantage of this process, it is
very important that you come by the school so that school personnel can help you with this process. Students who are not registered may stand to lose their placement in their assigned class if this process is not completed.

Another change that will take place this school year is student dismissal time.  All students, regardless of grade, will be
dismissed at 3:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday while dismissal every Friday will be at 3:15.   As usual, PK3 and PK4 Head Start classes will be dropped off and dismissed at the front entrance of the school.  Non-Head Start PK3 and PK4, Kinder and 1st – 5th grades classes will be dropped off at either entrance to the cafeteria.  Dismissal for Non-Head Start PK 3, PK 4 and Kinder classes will be by the library while dismissal for 1st – 5th grade students will be on Rosario Street.

Finally, it is our hope that this school year will be a great one for each of your children.  Laredo ISD’s slogan this year is
“EXCELLENCE EVERY STUDENT, EVERY DAY!” To accomplish this, students will need to be in attendance every day each week, listen to their teachers and follow school rules. In addition, we will need your support.  Together, we can accomplish excellence for each student.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 273-3600 or come by the school.

Sincerely yours,

Adriana Padilla

Principal
