Dear Parents, We are now well into the second semester and your children are getting ready for the spring state assessments which include TELPAS and STAAR Tests. Teachers continue to prepare your children each day for these assessments and in their everyday tasks and classwork. Along with the many challenges that have been imposed upon us, it is very important for you to send your children to school each day. There is no better place for students learn than to be at school. Continue to support your children each day. Make sure they have time to study when they get home, and have them get a good night’s sleep. That smile and hug that I see many of you give as you leave your children at school in the mornings makes their day. Always stay in touch with your child’s teacher. Along with academics, many students are also participating in various activities such as the Boy’s and Girl’s Club Basketball Kinder, Second, Fourth and Fifth grade teams, sports tournaments, UIL activities, Spelling Bee, Tech Expo, Bake Club, Chess Tournaments, and many others. Students continue to be celebrated for being selected students of the month, the Bilingual Scholar, attendance, for reaching the AR goal for the marking period for being talented artists, and for academic excellence. Heights Elementary School teachers and staff are committed in helping students succeed. As always, if you any questions and/or suggestions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. It takes all of us in making students be the best they can be. Remember, at Heights, “We dream it, dare it and do, it!” Adriana Padilla Principal
